Good to Watch: Funny Interstitials on Television

This post is intended for Indian television audience. Some programs may not be available internationally. Please consult your local TV listings for the programs on their respective channels worldwide.

The following four are short programs that fill in between programs. They are very funny and cool to watch if you’re looking for some entertainment.

Backkom

This show is my favorite. It is slapstick comedy. The animation style is of a combination of computer-generated and cel animation. It is also known as Bernard. In Korea, it is known as Backkom. It is about a confused polar bear. It airs on Nickelodeon India. Visit the website here.

Backkom videos are widely available on the internet. Just search any video site like YouTube for ‘backkom’ and you can enjoy the shows.

Pat and Stanley

This is not as interesting as Backkom but can be watched. It is about a hippopotamus and a dog (I hope I got these animals right!). This one too is slapstick comedy. The show is dubbed in Hindi. It is shown on Disney Channel India. You can watch some videos here.

The Owl

This show on Disney Channel India is about a fictitious owl whose body parts come out every now and then. It is troubled by insects, birds, worms etc. In the end, the owl always dies!

The Tony B Show

I love Channel V India for their innovation in programming. Be it Lola Kutty or Brought to you Bai, they’ve always been innovative. Once again they come up with another show which is entertaining and hilarious. This guy named Tony B is an interviewer and he interviews celebrities. He’s a naive and foolish person. He asks stupid questions which the celebrities try to answer hilariously. Shehnaz Hussain, Kailash Kher and Shibani Kashyap were interviewed by him and I found Shehnaz Hussain episode very funny.
