Designing A Magazine: Design Mania

This, again, is a class assignment wherein we were taught Adobe inDesign. We’re supposed to create a magazine. I began working from scratch right from naming the magazine, designing its logo and layouting. Most of it contains placeholder text as it would have been difficult to make my own articles and design the magazine single handedly in a short span of time. Nevertheless, I took utmost care to incorporate my original work in the magazine design. The pattern on the cover page is from internet. Rest everything is my work (the illustrations, logos and photographs).

The primary inspiration for this magazine’s cover page design is Computer Arts (One of my favorite mags). Design Mania is supposed to be an international magazine, to be printed in India and sold in India, UK and US.

I like inDesign for its ease of use and user friendly interface. It’s more like an extension to Illustrator but there are certain options missing in this that are in Illustrator.

This post reminds me again of how much I love graphic design!
