Weekend Visit to Kishkinta
Me, my brother and Sameera went to Kishkinta on Saturday. Kishkinta is a theme park 6 kms away from Tambaram, Chennai. We reached Tambaram by 10 am. We waited there for a bus (a van, I should say!) to take us to the India’s No. 1 theme park (that’s what they tout themselves as!). To be honest, this is the first time that I visited a theme park. We chose this over MGM and VGP as Kishkinta is supposed to have water rides.
I was scared as the altitude went higher in Columbus but later I felt ok! I liked Thrillarium but it could have been better. I really loved White Water Ride, Aqua Ride and Tube Ride (Aqua Ride was better than Tube Ride, though). The Dragon Coaster (Little RollerCoaster) wasn’t much fun. Rest of the rides were just ok. I hated Manthira Arai and the 3D Movie Theater.
Here, I should tell you about Kishkinta’s Tsunami (Water Volcano). This was really comical. A guy started giving a big hype about this on loud speaker. I thought the water would just flood! But after all the hype he gave and the accompanying sound effects, they were spraying water as shown in the snap below and calling it tsunami. So much for a tsunami!
The food here is a bit disappointment. There are veg and non-veg but it’s not so good. The band was one thing which was very annoying and that too in summer! Some rides need payment of extra cash.

Finally, at 5.30pm, we boarded the Kishkinta van to go back to Tambaram and traveled back home in T51. This is the first time I traveled the entire way covered by a bus (i.e., T51).
Kishkinta was fun. One can visit it once but it doesn’t have enough package to keep the visitor coming back again.
