Iron Man: A Great Movie Experience After A Long Time
I watch movies rarely. I wouldn’t say seldom but very few! And too few in theaters. I’m very skeptical about the kinda movies that release these days. ‘Tashan‘ (Recent movie I watched) made this even worse! So, when I went to Iron Man in Satyam Cinemas, my hopes weren’t high. I didn’t have any expectations but there was an undertow that this would be another run-of-the-mill superhero movie.
The movie begins with a regular scene featuring a car being driven somewhere in Afghanistan. Well… I felt like running away as the movie began with this scene. I was watching it while sipping the large Coke at 1 noon! Slowly, the movie became gripping and whoa! I never knew how it got me involved in it. It was really enthralling. The basic premise of the movie is great and I loved the plot.
Robert Downey Jr., was really good as Tony Stark. Though the initial plot was a little far fetched, but hey! this is just a fantasy movie, overall the movie experience was great. The graphics were impeccable. The story was engrossing and the best part was when Iron Man was threatened to kill the hostages by the terrorists. I felt his hands were tied and I was at the edge of my seat guessing what he’d do but the way the writers dealt with the situation was really fantastic! Brilliant scene.
But, some scenes were really uncomfortable (atleast for me) like Gwyneth putting her hand in Downey’s heart and trying to fix the device. She picks up a whole lot of gooey stuff. yuck! Also in the first half wherein Downey holds a car battery in his hands wherever he goes which is connected to the device.
Also, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts was stunning and real. The romance between Tony and Pepper was subtle yet palpable. The sheer visual richness of graphically enhanced Iron Man, his assembly etc blew me away. And the ending (apart from the climax) was worth watching. I really recommend this movie to my blog readers. I would give it 8.5 outta 10. At times, I felt it would be implausible like the heavy hitting and throwing of Iron Man and still Tony wouldn’t get a scratch or fracture, the time to wear the suit and become a superhero is more vis-a-vis other superheroes etc. I hope the soon-to-be-released ‘Batman: The Dark Knight‘ too exceeds expectations like this one did.
Believe me, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Iron Man.

Loved the movie. The first thing that came to my mind when the movie started with those trucks is that if you would have seen the movie you would comment about the font of the text which says “Afghanistan”. I just came back from the movie and I see you blog but nothing about the font !!! I didnt like the font at all
he he.. After watching the kinda fonts the sci-fi Indian movies use, I rarely observe those fonts used for info.
Btw, I really love the titles of ‘U, Me Aur Hum’. The quotes they showed weren’t quite readable but the idea was good!
Thanks for commenting.
