Logo Design: Amaze Logo

Amaze ‘08 was supposed to be a rough idea of an event to be conducted in Chennai by our college. It could be deciphered as ‘A Maze‘ which amazes people. I chose to do the branding part for the event. I sketched the logo previously.  Recently, I was going through the scribbles and I found my logo idea good and worked on it further in Illustrator to give the final shape.

I love this as a portfolio item though the event idea is being pursued no more. I created the whole thing using rectangle shapes and pathfinder panel in Illustrator. I created the font (modified an existing pixel font to bring out my font which I scribbled in my sketchbook). The basic idea of the logo is a part of a maze. I portrayed it in a 3d form (a look from above). It is made of ‘a’, ‘z’ and ‘e’ - the key letters that make Amaze (The ‘z’ is the same thing that you see in the above font)
