Wow…a great namaste!Really liked it…a small suggestion…how abt cutting the billowing hair[:D] a little…and make it look tapered?
awesome dude.. keep Rocking!!
aweSome!!!
I did not like it much. Sorry to say but it seemed to me like a hentai cartoon. I don’t doubt your technical abilities but you must have taken care of correlation between the theme and the gestures or posture displayed by that woman. If the theme is meant to be namaste (which is generally told by bowing your head), I don’t see her bowing at all! Instead it looks like she is chanting some spell in her hands
kidding. But that was the main posture which any creative person would like to see in a namaste.
Hope you take my comments positively.
-Anonymous (I am better this way for personal reasons)
Anyway, that’s good ‘anonymous’. I like criticism. That’s a stylized vector art. It is just a piece of whole concept that I did for a contest. I’ll be posting the contest entry soon. I presume that you don’t have much info about illustration (your usage of ‘hentai’ instead of ‘manga style’ shows the same). Just do a Google Images search for Namaste and compare the postures to my illustration. There are different kinds of greeting gestures similar to Namaste in Asia Pacific. Some are Gassho (in Japanese), Wai (in Thai), Aayubowan (in SriLanka), héshí (in Chinese or Mandarin) etc. This illustration mainly aims to depict all those greeting gestures. Even the posture in the age old Namaste logo that you find on wedding cards and other ceremonial cards in India is same as the one that I’ve drawn.
I did a considerable research before illustrating the above. I just presented this piece with a title ‘Namaste’ ‘coz I’m showing this to my friends, primarily Indians.
Nice one…
