First Look: Kung Fu Panda

kfp-teaser-1sht_72dpi.jpgDreamworks Animation and Paramount Pictures will be releasing their new animation flick ‘Kung Fu Panda‘ on June 6th of next year (2008).

It has voice-overs of a gamut of superstars like Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan and Lucy Liu. Kung Fu Panda is being directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne and produced by Melissa Cobb. The idea for the film was conceived by Michael Lachance, a DreamWorks Animation executive.

The film follows a fat, lazy Panda named Po (Black) who, while living in ancient China, must somehow learn how to become a Kung Fu Master in order to save the Valley of Peace from an evil snow leopard named Tai Lung (McShane). Po the Panda, a lowly waiter in a noodle restaurant, is a kung fu fanatic but its shape doesn’t exactly lend itself to kung fu fighting. In fact, Po’s defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest of all the animals in ancient China. That’s a problem because powerful enemies are at the gates, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophesy naming Po as the “Chosen One” to save the day. A group of martial arts masters are going to need a black belt in patience if they are going to turn this slacker panda into a kung fu fighter before it’s too late.

The first Teaser trailer will be released with DreamWorks Animation’s new animated film Bee Movie on November 2nd. You may watch the trailer here or here.

Hopefully, it’s as good as their last movie - Madagascar! For the mean time, you may look at the pictures below.
